Dr. Ali Saeed Mohd Buhussain is a highly experienced Respiratory Medicine Specialist with over 30 years of clinical expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary and thoracic conditions. He has been practicing at Zayed Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi since 1990, where he continues to play a key role in both clinical care and medical education within the military health system.
Dr. Buhussain began his medical journey with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. He then went on to earn advanced postgraduate qualifications in respiratory medicine from leading institutions in the UK, including a Diploma in Thoracic Medicine from Cardiff University, a Diploma in Thoracic Medicine from the National Heart & Lung Institute at the University of London, and a Master of Science in Respiratory Medicine from the same institute.
He previously served as a General Practitioner in Internal Medicine at Al Mafraq Hospital in Abu Dhabi from 1986 to 1990 before transitioning into his current long-standing role in respiratory care. Over the years, Dr. Buhussain has held several administrative positions, including Head of the Chest Department, Head of the School of Medical Service, and Head of Recruitment at Zayed Military Hospital.
Dr. Buhussain is also actively engaged in academic training and education. He has taught MRCP and Arab Board candidates, focusing on clinical bedside examination, history taking, and MCQ preparation. His research interests include asthma management and the prevalence of COPD among military personnel and their families.
He regularly participates in regional and international conferences and CME activities to stay at the forefront of advancements in pulmonary care, and has contributed to shaping clinical standards through his involvement in training workshops and journal clubs.
Dr. Buhussain is licensed by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (HAAD) and is a member of the Emirates Medical Association.
