Dr. Bakhtiar Mirza has over 15 years of experience in Internal Medicine, with a strong background in both inpatient and outpatient care across the United States and the UAE. He is American Board Certified in Internal Medicine and is known for his patient-centered approach, clinical leadership, and diagnostic acumen.
He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Dow Medical College, Pakistan, graduating with First Division. He later completed his Internal Medicine residency at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland, Michigan, followed by a Pulmonary Medicine Fellowship at Wayne State University. He has held clinical roles as a hospitalist at Detroit Medical Center since 2008.
Dr. Bakhtiar has been actively involved in academic research and medical education, with several poster presentations and publications to his name. His studies have been accepted by the American College of Physicians (ACP), the journal Chest, Thrombosis and Hemostasis, and Heart Journal, among others. He has also served as a guest speaker and presenter at several professional forums, including the Southeast Michigan Center for Medical Education and hospital journal clubs.
Prior to joining Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital, Dr. Bakhtiar served as a Hospitalist in Internal Medicine at Detroit Medical Center, USA.
Dr. Bakhtiar Mirza’s scope of practice includes the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic medical conditions, hospital-based care, and critical decision-making in complex internal medicine cases.
