Dr. Ahmed has more than nine years of medical experience, with advanced training and board certifications in both Internal Medicine and Adult Rheumatology.
She holds triple board certifications, having completed the Arab Board and Jordanian Board in Internal Medicine, as well as the Emirati Board in Adult Rheumatology, through a nationally and internationally accredited program (NIHS and ACGME-I). Her postgraduate training has focused on autoimmune, musculoskeletal, and connective tissue diseases, with a strong foundation in academic research and collaborative care.
Recognized as a rising leader in her field, Dr. Ahmed currently serves as General Secretary of the Emirates Society of Rheumatology (ESR), making her one of the youngest people to hold this national leadership role. She is also an active member of APLAR’s Young Rheumatologist Community and the American College of Rheumatology (ACR), contributing to global knowledge exchange, research initiatives, and patient-centered innovations in rheumatology care.
Prior to joining Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital, Dr. Ahmed trained and practiced at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) during her internship and internal medicine residency, and at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) as a Rheumatology Specialist Fellow.
Dr. Ahmed’s scope of practice includes the diagnosis and management of autoimmune and rheumatic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, spondyloarthritis, and vasculitis. She also provides biologic therapies, joint and soft-tissue injections, and long-term disease monitoring tailored to each patient’s condition.
