Dr. George Ghali is a Specialist in Internal Medicine with more than 25 years of clinical experience across Egypt and the UAE, including frontline work during the COVID-19 pandemic. His expertise spans general internal medicine, critical care, patient stabilization, gastroenterology, and medical education, with a strong focus on quality improvement and digital systems in healthcare.
Dr. Ghali earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBCh) from Cairo University in 1996, followed by a postgraduate diploma in Family Medicine from Maastricht University in the Netherlands. He later completed a Master's degree in Internal Medicine from Banha University, Egypt. His academic foundation is complemented by ongoing teaching roles and active involvement in clinical rotations with RAK University.
Prior to joining Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital, Dr. Ghali served as an Internal Medicine Specialist at Fujairah Hospital, where he led COVID-19 frontline efforts, treated a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, and coordinated department-level quality initiatives. He was the internal medicine department’s quality coordinator and played a leading role in Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation preparation. His earlier roles include Emergency Physician at Fujairah Hospital, and Internal Medicine and Critical Care Resident in Egypt.
Dr. Ghali has also been involved in training and education, supervising third- and fourth-year medical students from RAK University since 2017, guiding them through clinical case management, diagnosis, and medical reasoning. In addition to his clinical and academic roles, he serves as a team leader of the Code Blue Committee, an auditor for emergency drills, and a super user for the “Wareed” electronic medical records system.
