Dr. Hesham Farouk is a Specialist Neurologist with over 20 years of experience diagnosing and managing a wide spectrum of neurological conditions. His expertise spans general neurology, stroke management, neurophysiology, neuroimmunology, and emergency neurological care. He is known for his evidence-based clinical approach, commitment to academic development, and ability to navigate complex cases with confidence and clarity.
Dr. Farouk obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBCh) from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, graduating with honors. He later earned his Master’s degree in Neurology from the same university, with a thesis focusing on oxidative stress markers in acute stroke. He holds the Neurology Specialty Certificate from the Federation of Royal Colleges of Physicians and the Association of British Neurologists (UK), is a Fellow of the European Board of Neurology, and is a registered Consultant A of Neurology with the Egyptian Medical Syndicate.
Prior to joining Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital, Dr. Farouk held several senior positions across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. These include serving over a decade at King Fahd Medical Military Complex in Dhahran, where he was instrumental in establishing emergency stroke protocols and training neurology residents. He has also been a Neurology Specialist at Zayed Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi since 2021, actively contributing to academic teaching and specialized neurology services.
