Dr. Karim Magdy Abdelrahim is an internal medicine specialist with over six years of experience across Egypt and the UAE. He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and General Surgery from Kasr Al-Ainy Medical School (Cairo University) and has completed the first part of his master’s degree in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Tropical Medicine. He is a candidate for the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of Ireland (MRCPI) and has passed Part One and Two in General Medicine. He has also completed the first year of a master’s in healthcare quality management. Dr. Abdelrahim is licensed by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) in the UAE and by the Ministry of Health in Egypt.
He has managed a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with a focus on cardiovascular disease, nephrology, neurology, gastroenterology, and pulmonary conditions. His clinical exposure spans emergency care, intensive care, and internal medicine residency training across leading hospitals.
Prior to joining Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital, Dr. Abdelrahim completed internal medicine residencies at Zayed Military Hospital and Thumbay Hospital in the UAE, where he was involved in daily inpatient care, diagnostic evaluations, and case discussions. He has also served in various roles across Egypt, including at Al-Ganzouri Specialist Hospital and Al-Nasr for Medical Insurance Hospital, managing complex medical cases and critical care scenarios, such as hypoglycemic coma, acute coronary syndromes, and respiratory emergencies.
Throughout his career, Dr. Abdelrahim has participated in intensive care units during the COVID-19 pandemic, provided mentorship to junior staff, and performed procedures under consultant supervision including central venous line insertion, tracheal intubation, and tapping. He is committed to continuous learning and excellence in patient care.
