Dr. Mohammad Alsayed Gomaa is a specialist general surgeon with more than 20 years of academic and clinical experience across Egypt and the UAE. His surgical expertise spans gastrointestinal, endocrine, bariatric, and minimally invasive procedures, including laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, hernia repair, and salivary gland surgery. He is also experienced in managing surgical emergencies and conducting advanced research on fecal incontinence and obesity surgery.
Before joining Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital, Dr. Gomaa served as a general surgery specialist at Zayed Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi, as well as Dubai Hospital under the Dubai Health Authority. His earlier academic tenure includes roles as Consultant and Lecturer in the Department of General Surgery at Zagazig University in Egypt, where he also held teaching and supervisory responsibilities for postgraduate students.
Dr. Gomaa earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from Zagazig University with honors and holds both a Master’s and Doctorate degree in General Surgery from the same institution. He is certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and has undertaken extensive professional development and international training in laparoscopic bariatric surgery, surgical education, and academic research.
