Dr. Ruqaya Awawdeh

Biography

With more than six years of experience following her board certification, Dr. Ruqaya Awawdeh is a Specialist Psychiatrist dedicated to supporting patients on their journey toward better mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Dr. Awawdeh earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Al-Quds University in Jerusalem, before completing her residency training in General Adult Psychiatry and Addiction at Al-Rashid Hospital in Amman, Jordan. She later obtained her Specialist Certificate in Psychiatry from the Jordanian Medical Council.

Prior to joining Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital, Dr. Awawdeh served as a Specialist Psychiatrist at Royal Health Group in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Dr. Awawdeh’s scope of practice includes assessing and diagnosing a wide range of mental and behavioral health disorders, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, addiction, and cognitive function challenges.

Field of Expertise

• Dr. Awawdeh’s expertise spans the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders across all age groups, including mood, anxiety, psychotic, and personality disorders, as well as addiction, dementia, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and autism.
• She adopts a collaborative, evidence-based approach, integrating psychopharmacology and psychotherapy to create a supportive and empowering environment that helps patients achieve optimal mental wellbeing.
• Her main areas of focus include mood and personality disorders.
