Dr. Vasile Cuzincu

Dr. Cuzincu has 20 years of medical experience in gastroenterology, internal medicine, and advanced endoscopic procedures.

Dr. Cuzincu obtained his medical degree in Human Medicine from Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Iași, Romania, in 2003. He later completed specialist training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology in Germany, earning recognition as a Specialist in Internal Medicine (Facharzt für Innere Medizin) in 2011 and Specialist in Gastroenterology (Facharzt für Gastroenterologie) in 2014. He also holds additional qualifications in emergency medicine and emergency medical services. Dr. Cuzincu is licensed to practice medicine in both Germany and Romania and holds a Dubai Health Authority (DHA) license as Consultant in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine in the United Arab Emirates.

Dr. Cuzincu has extensive experience in gastroenterology with particular expertise in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. Over the course of his career, he has performed a high volume of complex procedures including endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography drainage (PTCD), high-resolution manometry, pH monitoring, and ultrasound-guided biopsies. His clinical work has included managing large inpatient and outpatient caseloads while providing comprehensive care for a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Cuzincu has held senior leadership roles within leading European healthcare institutions, serving as Head Physician (Chefarzt) in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology departments, where he was responsible for departmental strategy, clinical quality improvement, and the development of advanced endoscopy services.

Prior to joining Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital, Dr. Cuzincu served as a Consultant in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine at Healthbay Day Surgery in Dubai. Before relocating to the United Arab Emirates, he held several senior leadership roles in Germany, including Head Physician (Chefarzt) of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at Kliniken Miltenberg-Erlenbach GmbH, part of one of Europe’s largest private hospital networks, where he led multidisciplinary medical teams and oversaw high-volume endoscopy programs.

Dr. Cuzincu’s scope of practice includes the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal and digestive system disorders, advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy including ERCP and EUS, management of hepatobiliary and pancreatic conditions, functional gastrointestinal diagnostics including manometry and pH monitoring, ultrasound-guided diagnostic procedures, and comprehensive care for patients with complex gastrointestinal diseases.
