The Emergency Department (ED) is a specialized unit that provides urgent medical care for patients facing life-threatening or time-sensitive health concerns. From severe injuries to sudden illnesses, our Emergency Department is equipped to handle all types of adult emergencies, day or night, with speed, skill, and compassion.
At Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital, our Emergency Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Staffed by highly trained emergency physicians, nurses, and on-call specialists, we’re equipped with advanced diagnostics, a fully equipped Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and the infrastructure to provide rapid, high-quality care for adult emergencies.
Whether you're experiencing chest pain, a head injury, difficulty breathing, or any other urgent condition, we’re here to assess, stabilize, and treat you with the urgency your situation demands.
Adult Emergency Services
Our adult emergency unit provides immediate care for medical and surgical emergencies in individuals aged 18 and over. From heart attacks to fractures, we manage acute conditions using evidence-based protocols, onsite diagnostics, and multidisciplinary collaboration with specialists when needed.
Maternal Emergency Services
Pregnant women experiencing pain, bleeding, or other symptoms are assessed with urgency and sensitivity by our ED team in coordination with obstetric specialists. We ensure expectant mothers receive timely care and fetal monitoring when necessary.
We do not yet offer Pediatric Emergency Services
Please note that Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital does not treat children or offer pediatric emergency care. Patients under 18 should be referred to a pediatric-specific emergency facility.
