Dr. Biborka Bereczky is a Consultant General, Bariatric, and Minimally Invasive Surgeon with more than 22 years of international experience in general surgery, advanced laparoscopic surgery, bariatric and metabolic surgery, robotic surgery, laser surgery, and wound management.
She graduated from Semmelweis University, Hungary, where she also completed her specialist training in General Surgery and earned a Ph.D. in Molecular Oncology. Throughout her career, Dr. Bereczky has combined extensive clinical practice with academic excellence, serving as an Assistant Professor at Semmelweis University and contributing to numerous international research publications and scientific conferences.
Before joining Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital, Dr. Bereczky practised at leading healthcare institutions across the UAE, including Dubai Hospital (Dubai Health Authority), Mediclinic Dubai Mall, Mediclinic City Hospital, Mediclinic Parkview Hospital, and Mubadala Health Dubai. She also serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), where she is actively involved in undergraduate surgical education and training.
Dr. Bereczky has completed advanced international fellowships in bariatric and metabolic surgery, advanced laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery, proctology, and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy in the United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, and other internationally recognised centres. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) and the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and is registered on the UK General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register.
Her clinical practice focuses on delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care using minimally invasive and robotic techniques to achieve faster recovery, reduced postoperative pain, and improved patient outcomes.
