Dr. Faheemullah Shaikh is a Specialist Ophthalmologist with more than three decades of experience across Pakistan, Oman, and the UAE. His career spans clinical practice, academia, community outreach, and surgical intervention, with key areas of expertise in diabetic eye disease, cataract surgery, and pediatric ophthalmology.
Dr. Shaikh obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Sindh Medical College under the University of Karachi. He later completed his Fellowship in Ophthalmology from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (FCPS), and holds additional certifications in surgical skills, research methodology, pediatric ophthalmology, and diabetic retinopathy management through various WHO-accredited institutions.
Prior to joining Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital, Dr. Shaikh served as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences in Pakistan. He also practiced at Ibri Regional Hospital in Oman and held registrar and academic positions at Civil Hospital Karachi. Over the years, he has led more than 110 rural surgical eye camps, providing sight-saving care and performing cataract surgeries in underserved communities across Sindh.
At Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital, Dr. Shaikh delivers comprehensive ophthalmic care, with a focus on diabetic retinopathy, pediatric eye conditions, anterior segment diseases, and minor ophthalmic procedures. He is also proficient in ophthalmic ultrasonography, patient education, and laser techniques.
