Dr. Khulood Almarzooqi has over six years of medical experience in dermatology, in addition to prior general medical training.
Dr. Almarzooqi obtained her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at United Arab Emirates University in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates, graduating with distinctions. She completed her medical internship at Tawam Hospital in Al Ain before undertaking her Dermatology Residency Program at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The residency program is accredited by the Emirati Board of Dermatology, the Arab Board, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Almarzooqi is a double board-certified dermatologist who completed her residency training at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, where she also served as Chief Resident. She has extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of both acute and chronic dermatologic conditions affecting adults and children. Her clinical expertise includes inflammatory skin diseases, autoimmune and connective tissue disorders, pigmentary conditions, acne, skin cancer screening and management, and allergic skin diseases. She also has experience in a broad range of dermatologic procedures including diagnostic interventions, minor surgical procedures, and laser and energy-based treatments.
Throughout her training, Dr. Almarzooqi earned both the Emirati Board of Dermatology and the Arab Board of Dermatology and Venereology. She ranked first in the Dermatology Clinical Arab Board Examination, reflecting her academic excellence and strong clinical foundation.She also completed the Cardiff University Dermoscopy Certificate and a Diploma in Psychodermatology.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Almarzooqi has demonstrated a strong commitment to research and scholarly activity. She has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and presented her work at national and international dermatology conferences. In recognition of her contributions, she received the Highest Published Physician Award at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in 2025, as well as multiple awards for outstanding case presentations. She is also an active member of professional organizations, including the Emirates Dermatology Society (EDS) and the European Society for Dermatology and Psychiatry (ESDaP).
Prior to joining Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital, Dr. Almarzooqi worked as a Dermatologist at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
At Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital, Dr. Almarzooqi’s scope of practice covers the diagnosis and management of eczema, psoriasis, acne, autoimmune and connective tissue skin diseases, vitiligo, inflammatory and pigmentary skin disorders, skin cancer, and contact dermatitis and allergic skin conditions.
