Dr. Tarik Saddik has more than 30 years of medical experience in ophthalmology, with a subspecialty focus on medical retinal diseases.
Dr. Saddik obtained his Bachelor of Medicine from Benghazi, Libya, in 1994. He later achieved the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ophthalmology (FRCSI) from Dublin, Ireland, in 2003. He further advanced his expertise through medical retina fellowships at the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital in Dublin, Ireland, and Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Saddik has extensive experience in both general ophthalmology and subspecialty retinal care. His clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and management of diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular diseases, uveitis, and age-related macular degeneration. He is also experienced in cataract surgery, dry eye management, and a wide range of retinal procedures including laser treatments and intravitreal injections. Over the course of his career, he has practiced at consultant level across Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates, gaining broad international experience in managing complex ophthalmic conditions.
Prior to joining Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital, Dr. Saddik worked as a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Medical Retina Specialist at the American Hospital in Dubai, where he provided comprehensive ophthalmic care and advanced retinal services.
At Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital, Dr. Saddik’s scope of practice covers the diagnosis and management of general ophthalmic conditions, cataract surgery, treatment of dry eye disease, and specialized care for medical retinal conditions including diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular diseases, uveitis, and age-related macular degeneration. His practice also includes retinal laser procedures and intravitreal therapies.
